Kentucky's Princess Pageants
New this year... Divisions for ages 1-13!

The Miss Kentucky Teen America Organization proudly offers opportunities for girls ages 1-13 to represent the Bluegrass state as a Kentucky Princess!  The Princess pageants are natural pageant competitions that offer an excellent way for children to gain affordable pageant experience, have fun, and possibly represent Kentucky as an official state titleholder along side Miss Kentucky Teen America! Princess pageants are non-contractual and do not advance to the national level.

There are several changes this year, most notably that the Princess Pageants are being held separate from the Teen pageant.  There are two reasons for this: 1.) We want to make sure we are giving our Princess contestants the proper attention and experiences that they deserve.  2.) We will be holding the Teen pageant later in the year, to re-align with the national program, and did not want to push the Princess pageants back that far into the year.  In addition, we have added a Beautiful Baby division, in response to many inquiries.  We have also incorporated a Junior Teen Princess Division, giving girls this age a chance to compete contract free, at a lower fee, without the obligation and expense of traveling to a national pageant.

NEW JUDGING CRITERIA AND APPLICATION FEES EFFECTIVE 1/29/12

BABY MISS (1-2) AND TINY MISS (3-5)

Baby Miss Contestants ages 1-2 and Tiny Miss Contestants ages 3-5 now have new scoring criteria and entry fee!  We received much feedback regarding these age divisions, and since we cannot have a pageant without contestants, we are adjusting our program to simplify the day further for families of our youngest contestants!

Baby Miss and Tiny Miss Contestants now compete in their pageant dress only!  The judges will consider poise and confidence, appropriateness of attire, beauty of face, and overall impression. Appropriate attire includes semi-formal to formal special occasion dresses. Both short and long dresses are acceptable for Baby and Tiny Miss.

The cost to enter the Baby Miss and Tiny Miss Division is now only $75!  Kentucky’s Baby Miss and Kentucky’s Tiny Miss receive a fabulous prize package!

LITTLE MISS (6-8), YOUNG MISS (9-11), AND JUNIOR MISS (12-13)

All contestants AGES 6-13 will appear on stage in their white Kentucky’s Princess logo tee shirt which is provided by the pageant.  Please wear your choice of bottom (pants, skirt, leggings, etc...), shoes and accessories. Contestants are encouraged to incorporate black, silver, hot pink and/or red in with the outfit. Both pink and red will be used during the pageant as pink is a logo color and we will raise awareness for Heart Month with red!  This is a fun way to express your personal style on stage!  No alterations are to be made to the shirt, for example rhinestones, cutting, adding words, etc…  Contestants will be judged at this time for 25% personality in fun fashion.  In addition, ages 6-13 will give a personal introduction worth 25% of the score, to include no more than name, age, hometown, parents name, school and grade in the order of their choosing.  No other information is to be included and adding additional information to the introduction will reflect poorly on the contestant.

All contestants ages 6-13 will compete in formal dress.  The judges will consider poise and confidence, appropriateness of attire, beauty of face, and overall impression. Appropriate attire includes semi-formal to formal special occasion dresses. The judges will not be scoring the dress itself but will be looking for a complimentary color, style, and fit for the contestant. For Little, Young, and Junior Miss formal dress competition is worth 25% of the overall score.

In formal dress, Little Miss Contestants ages 6-8, Young Miss Contestants ages 9-11, and Junior Miss Contestants ages 12-13, will be judged in on-stage interview, which is worth 25% of the overall score. Questions are very conversational in that there is no right or wrong answer.  Questions are designed to show her personality and things she enjoys, and how she handles answering the question in front of an audience.  Each contestant will be asked two questions.

The cost to enter the Little Miss, Young Miss and Junior Miss pageants is $125.  A cash award will be given to each winner of these three divisions, along with an amazing prize package!
